School wide data analysis
PAT Mathematics school wide analysis
I have completed a school wide analysis of the PAT data completed in March. This report analyses the results from yrs 4-6 and identifies trends and next steps.
I also have created similar reports using PAT Reading comprehension and PAT Reading vocabulary

Making OTJ's
I worked with Tina-Ree to support making anniversary and progress OTJ's for September /October. We used the OTJ tracking sheets and assessment data to help make the OTJ's.
We compared the results from last time and now and the children had improved in Reading and Writing.
In Reading we used the new running record results, using the Ready to Read seen text kit. Using this this term was more reflective where the children are actually achieving than the older PM kits. The ready to read texts have a higher range of vocabulary but they also have texts that our students can connect to as they have some prior experience of the contexts.

AsTtle
Today we analysed our AsTle writing results. I enjoyed the fact we used a moment in time, rather than Recount like last year. My class all used the structure of I can see, I can hear and I can smell although they overused slightly. A class target is to use more precise vocabulary and vary the sentence beginnings.
IR was one of my students that wrote a long story with lots of ideas. She used a good range of vocabulary like noise, bouncing, playing, fur.
Her target is to vary the sentence beginnings and write what she can see and hear without using those words.
Class targets were punctuation as lots of children only put a fullstop at the end of the story.

Making OTJ's
Writing OTJ's
I led a meeting for all of the teahers in the Junior Class. We were placing our class on the data wall in Writing and were making OTJ's using our class writing books. One of the areas we examined closely was the range of writing from early 1B where a child is using dominant sounds and a few hfw's to the higher 1B. We shared examples from across the Juniors. We supported Peti to help her level her class.
We also looked at children after 3 years and the 2B expectation. What does this look like???
What will the writer be including???
I am going to introduce some rubrics that I have used with my previous school that helps teachers distinguish writing at 1B, 1P, 1A and with definitions of terminology.
